Knot Playing Fair: Book One (30-DAY AUDIOBOOK RENTAL, LGBT)

When authors started writing reverse her stories they were always very female eccentric. This author has gone to a completely different direction and unless you love MM in your books, then she is not for you. I quit reading because the plot suffers because of those relationships and they don’t stay true to what reverse harems have always been. I unfollowed this author because I just can’t keep settling.

Really good character development. The FMC is strong and likable. The MMCs have a lot of background and are developing as the book progresses.

The plot is attention grabbing, the characters feel real, and I was completely hooked within a few chapters! The ending had wishing I could make the next book magically appear. We love strong FMC, and the variety of personalities in the MMC’s has me loving all of them already. Yes, even that one.

So many emotions!! This isn’t the typical RH book. Each character has their own set of issues & the author has gone to great lengths to humanize each individual character. While it definitely gives the steam you would expect, it will also hit you in the feels. I can’t wait for the second book to be completed. 10/10 recommend!

I randomly came across this book, I liked the blurb, and I decided to try it. I'm so glad I did!! I loved the characters, the storyline, and the spice 🔥🥵 I want to know everything about these characters, and I can't wait to see where their story goes. If you enjoy RH and a book that makes you feel all of the emotions, you need to read this one. I don't have one single negative thing to say about this book except that I'm ready for more!!

Is this book full of super spicy pack fun? Oh yes! You will not be disappointed! However be prepared to dive deep into nuanced authentic characters whose interactions with each other can get messy and convoluted (in a very real human way not a contrived misunderstanding move the plot forward kind of way). I got super invested in this book. I love all the characters even the one I wanted to hate and I can’t wait for the happy ever after in the sequel!

DNF'd. Author got confused. Obviously thought they were writing a personal manifesto instead of a RH. Very cringey in a lot of spots.

This was an ok read. It was , " knot", what I expected. Although, with this name , what Did I expect ??? 🤔🤔Mia' s restaurant partner \ husband has asked for an open marriage. She is an omega and nerds pheromones to help to become intimate with her beta husband.He doesn't like that.When Mia meets a few very strong alpha' s from the same house, her life takes an unexpected turn .Alpha Zalen , Byron , Emil and omega Luca are business associates who live in the same area, as well as work at the same center for at risk youths. As Mia and the guys get to know each other better, this book heats up a few notches !!!I don't really know too much about alphas and omegas, and perhaps if I did, I could have better understood the way everyone relates to each other. But I don't . Nor was it really explained. But this was a very well written book , with no typos, and the ending she's up the next book !!

I really liked this! The story did a refreshing job of focusing on the characters more as people than their omegaverse designations to an extent I haven't seen very often in this genre.Good-sized chunks of the book continued to show Mia's professional life after she met the new guys -- I enjoyed the restaurant scenes a lot. I also liked that the story showed how Mia's individual relationships developed separately and slowly... although I guess Zane's being saved for the next book since he didn't really show up much. I appreciated how a lot of Mia's and Luca's interactions were awkward and unfinished, but with the mature realization that one bad exchange didn't have to explode their whole friendship.It was also so nice how Mia's feelings towards Nat became complicated and a little sympathetic in a very real-world, not everything is black and white way.I did wish that for once, an OV story could happen without something messing up an omega's plans for their heat.There were a bunch of one-liners that made me laugh! Also, the grammar and editing were good.

This isn't like other omega verse I've read. Some things I like and some I don't. I definitely am interested in reading at least the rest of the story. Not sure how I will feel at the end yet. Really dislike that alphas are needed for the omegas to get wet or off. Like come on, that's ridiculous and horrible to the omegas. Also dislike that scent matches isn't a thing in this world, way to ruin one of the best parts of omegaverse. Like the fact its very different and has an Interesting plot. Don't like the severe slowburn. But I love that Luca and Mia have each other. They are adorable but I hate they need more to be satisfied. They should be able to be ok with each other at least sometimes. Will recommend but not in love with it lol

I really enjoyed this book. I'm not usually an Omegaverse fan, but this is a really good story. The characters are interesting to read about and I found myself intrigued by this alternate world so similar to our own, but with human-esque characters that have physiology that effects how they interact with the world and each other. The author does a great job making them believable people and letting the reader learn about this alternate reality in an organic way.

This book desperately needs a trigger warning list for the sheer amount of content it flings around for shock value. None of the heavy topics that required nuance or care were treated with either—instead, some were exaggerated to the point of feeling gross.Honestly? I’m shocked no one’s talked about this before. I wanted to like this book. I was looking forward to it. I read and write dark romance, pitch black content, and horror romance. I’m not squeamish about taboo or intensity. This isn’t about that. This is about execution—and how badly this one fumbled.So here’s your content warning list, because the author didn’t provide one:- There’s a line comparing someone to a “palsy victim”—which is blatantly ableist and unnecessary.- One male omega (Luca) is an ex-white supremacist. But it’s never addressed. There’s no arc, no remorse, no unpacking. The FMC only cares that he used to be in a gang, not that he literally aligned himself with white supremacy.- Misogyny is constant—and frequently twisted up with victim-blaming. Example: an alpha tells the FMC that the real problem isn’t the government taking away body autonomy and heat blockers—it’s that she isn’t being grateful enough to have “good” alphas to help her through it. What??- CSA (child sexual abuse) is heavily implied for two male characters. No content warning. No thoughtful handling.- The FMC is said to be “lucid enough” to have an important conversation during her heat—but when she bites and mates an alpha without his consent, it’s hand-waved away as biology. He was explicitly against any sexual contact beforehand and then gets trapped in the act. And somehow he’s the one comforting her after.- Homophobia is dropped in raw. Her beta ex’s internal monologue uses the f-word with no warning. And it’s not condemned—it’s used to build his character conflict while continuing to center his pain after he forced her to open their marriage due to her “lack of arousal” (which in this world is omega-dependent on alpha pheromones—a fascinating mechanic ruined by all this).So… yeah. That’s my rant. I’m disappointed. I wanted to root for this. Instead, I walked away deeply uncomfortable. First book I’ve read from this author—and it’ll be the last.

Blazing hot and fun to see the different dynamics in play. With life not playing fair it only seems right to roll with the punches. Very fun read and heck of a cliffhanger.

This was a pretty good read. Interesting. I’m liking the characters. I’m looking forward to the second book for everybody to be happy.

This was the first book in the duet, Knot Playing Fair, and we are introduced to Mia, her husband Nat, Luca a male omega and his three roommates, Zalen, Emiel, and Byron, all Alphas. Mia, an omega married Nat who is a beta, they started a successful restaurant and earned a Michelin star, unheard of for an omega. But the restaurant's success has caused problems in their marriage and Nat asks for an open marriage because his needs aren't being met. Mia meets Luca out at a singles bar, they hit it off and start seeing each other. There are a lot of different things going on in this story, there's Mia's restaurant, the Hope project, where Luca and his roommates work, there's the gangs, heats, and a cat. I am not sure where this story is going, but I am going to read book two.

This is truly one of the best omegaverse books I have ever read! This is such an awesome story of found family/ pack, redemption, and second chances. A Book filled with healing and unconditional love and support 💕 I love that even though they are all broken in their own ways they are able to find healing in one another. Who knew that Mia's husband insisting upon an open marriage might have just led them to the pack and family they both need? Such an excellent start to this duet! Ember Blaze knows how to suck you, and keep you devouring every word she writes. 👏

Who knew…your spouse, that you work full time with in a business you own, asking for an open marriage should not be the start to a hot omegaverse RH romantasy. Yet here we are! Mia is the broken-hearted spouse that finds her place with men who can appreciate her for who she is while her husband is just trying to play the field, have his cake and eat it too…all of those things. I can’t wait for the next installment to see how this cliffhanger resolves! So much love for Mia and her boys…especially Luca ❤️

Mia meets Luca in a bar, after her beta husband asks for an open marriage. Luca lives with his work family, who manage a place of hope for struggling children. You spend a lot of time getting to know the alphas and Liam's background, in book 1. Mia has some struggles with her restaurant along with straining conflicts with her husband. This book ends on a cliff hanger only if you have gotten interested in finding out what is going on. Which I have, so on to book 2.
