This is gonna be spoilers! You’ve been warned!So this was well written. Very few typos and errors to make your eyeballs twitch. The language and phrasing wasn’t juvenile. The content was NA/Adult.I enjoy a quick rundown, and I don’t see one yet so here:FMC’s mom cheats on her mate, has her. Mom is run out of pack. FMC is treated horribly by pack her entire life. She has one friend. She turns 21, gets her wolf, discovers her fated mate is alpha son Cai. He rejects her immediately and exiles her. She lives among humans. Strange powers develop when she’s upset. She’s kidnapped by hot fae dude Tamlain to the fae realm. Every time she uses her powers she destroys land in both realms. Her sperm donor is the crazy fae king who wants to use her. Hijinx ensue.This could have been a lot more angsty. Like, a lot. We missed a ton of opportunities to expand on the rejection and consequences here. However, this IS a standalone so we’re on a time crunch to get everything wrapped up so I get it. I do. I just I love me some delicious angst.The FMC wasn’t spineless. She wasn’t Xena Warrior Princess, but she tried hard. She has pride, a little self respect. I approve! She didn’t roll over and accept mating Cai cause she couldn’t resist his hot body a second longer, as is usually the case. The author actually gave her a valid reason (protecting the earth). Cai’s inner monologue discusses more than once how he understands she didn’t mate him for love. Bravo to that!Tamlain requiring consent during her heat ? Hot. Thank you. But then his absolute cluelessness afterwards regarding her desire for him? Uh no. He’s a grown man with life experience. That’s weird.Cai being fae touched was a neat little plot device. Fae touched meaning he was spelled into believing it was in her best interest if he rejected her mate bond. Doesn’t cover his having **** the night he rejects her, or all the **** he has the following months when she’s struggling to survive in the human world. The lack of angst I mentioned is that this gets glossed over in the heat of the moment in their quest to save the worlds. He never has to answer for his infidelity. He never has to apologize or grovel for making her feel it for months. He also never has to answer for choosing to exile her. He didn’t have to send her out to starve. He chose to. The way this was written, I wasn’t UPSET per se…. I just recognized it could have been a lot juicier. Cai got off seriously easy. It helps that he was never a jerk to her though. There was no bullying to recover from.It was a good read, I enjoyed it. I’ll def read what the author puts out next. I have a feeling it’ll be something for Darby!
I enjoyed the characters and the story line. This book caught my attention and kept it to the very end.

Very different plot line and the book is great. This author is very creative and I will be looking for more books from her.
