THE LAST VAMPIRE: BOOKS 1-6—A COMPLETE PARANORMAL VAMPIRE ROMANCE SERIES (AUDIOBOOK). NARRATED BY GWENDOLYN DRUYOR.
There’s a smokin’ hot dead guy locked in my garden shed.
That part’s bad enough. But now, he’s trying to get out.
Growing up, my father always told me that I’d come to a bad end, just like my mom did when I was a kid. Hearing that kind of stuff when you’re little eventually gets to a girl, but I can’t say I ever expected my ‘bad end’ to involve an angry vampire with a severe case of iron deficiency and a panty-melting English accent.
Maybe I shouldn’t be surprised. Ever since my mother was assassinated, I’ve felt like there was something vast and frightening hidden beneath the fabric of the world. Something none of us are supposed to know about.
So far, finding out I was right hasn’t been nearly as satisfying as I’d hoped. I guess the trick will be staying alive long enough to shout ‘I told you so’ from the rooftops.
But before I can do that, I really need to figure out if the vampire who just bit me is one of the good guys or not.

Great characters and world setting. Enjoyed the books immensely
I mistakenly read the next set of books before reading this one. You can read them out of order, but it is best to start with this set to put some things in context. The characters are interesting and easy to have strong feelings about, both good and bad. The storyline has a good ending, but also leaves room for more to come.
I really enjoyed this series. It was full of action and romance. A hard book to put down. I would recommend.
Loved it. Couldn't put it down. It had great characters and an outstanding story line. I look forward for further books in the series.
I really enjoyed this series. The characters were engaging and for the most part they were neither perfect heroes nor absolute villains. The two main protagonists emitted chemistry that transcended the pages and the **** was both passionate and believable. The story moved at a breakneck pace that kept me engaged.
With each book you get drawn more and more into the series. There is romance, treachery, intrigue, sorrow, pain, laughter, and so much more to be discovered within this series. I love the main characters Rans and Zorah. It's a must read. I'm not going into details. Read the series, you won't regret it.
*****The Last Vampire Complete Series (Books 1-6) by R. A. Steffan and Jaelynn: This series pulled me in…This is an entertaining storyline, both different and interesting. There’re actions without understanding, so lots of mystery.A small coalition: Fae, demon, vampire, human, hybrid everything. Against another coalition: Fae, demon - with intent for extreme harm. Soul bond, Demon bound, salt, iron, immortality, 3 realms/potential war, hidden agendas, and a plan. The costs are high, and the rewards are life itself. Good! An almost anti-climatic conclusion….Best quote: “…if humanity has proven anything, it’s that propaganda works. With enough time and resources, any group can be convinced to hate any other group.”—PTators
It was a great series, love the hot scenes!!! Story line was good however there was a few drops that bored me. All in all though a wonderful read!
An epic tale of two lonely survivors finding each other. Definitely some twists and turns in their journey. The scenes were pretty hot, especially the tub and cruise ones. Loved these characters, as well Edward and Guthrie. I’m so curious who the heck Neveah is.
If you're looking for a thrilling adventure that has you on the edge of your seat, give this series a try. The world building and characters are amazing, it's packed with action and unexpected twists and turns. The series is way too long to finish in one go, but it did keep me up a couple of nights because I just couldn't put it down. Main characters are humans, vampire, fae and demons. Several other series (Vampire bound and The Forsaken) are set in the same world.
Like some other reviewers, I had some issues with this series. On the one hand it was very imaginative, the characters were likable, and the plot was interesting, but on the other hand, it dragged on and on and became very dull due to lack of plot progression and tedious bedroom scenes that went on way too long.To be clear, I am a huge fan of smutty books, but after 3 books filled with vivid descriptions, even I was skimming through the details of each **** scene. In addition to that, there were parts of each book where EVERYTHING happened, then longer periods where not much did. The pacing was way off and this series could have comfortably wrapped up in 3 books. What I liked most were the characters, all of which amused me and irritated me at different points. I enjoyed Rans, Guthrie, Nigellus, Len, Edward, and so on. Zorah was an everyday gal who fell into some extraordinary circumstances and I think her view on things would be pretty normal for someone in that situation. She does some really stupid stuff, but it makes sense that she would in the context of the story so it worked for me.I thought the plot was unique and interesting and even though things should have moved way faster, I did want to find out what happened next. Without that intrigue, I probably would have DNFd this series due to boredom (and almost did several times).I will not read Guthrie and Vonnie's books because I'm afraid it would take me forever to get through them like this series. I do love Guthrie, but I can't do it, man. I'm glad I finished this series but I would only recommend it with serious reservations. Be prepared for a long reading slog if you do start it.
If you live making fun of sparkly vampires and love a great **** scene, these books are for you. But that's not all! It's a love story in so many ways including parental love, self love, same **** love, frienemy love, and the deep abiding love of near eternal friendship. 5 stars
I absolutely loved these books. The characters were fun and relatable even in their darkest times. It's full of twists and turns. They have to deal with opposition coming from all sides. There are points when you really don't know who to trust and who is on what side, but there are exceptions to every rule. There is no one side that's all, "bad" or all "good". Kept me on the edge of my seat and turning page after page into the wee hours of the morning. Definitely recommended if you're into vampires and fae worlds.
Such a great story line. Even though the title is kind of misleading. Yes, Rans is the last vampire, the story doesn’t focus on him as the main character. Still a great story
I give this just short of 4 stars. I love the story and underlying plot. The writing was deft and entertaining, keeping you interested right through til the end. I remove some of the star rating for 2 reasons; 1) most of the books in the series ended in a cliffhanger, 2) I was not expecting the increasingly explicit **** scenes. That being said, I realize that some of it was to be expected due to the protagonist's lineage and it was handled well. If I had had to wait between books I might not have finished, glad I did though
Never a dull moment in any of the books in this series. Well written story and plots. Thoroughly enjoyed reading every book. Now continuing on with the next series & plots of people mentioned in the first series. So its nice be able to read more of the familiar characters along with new ones.
Sassy and socially awkward waitress meets hot dead guy in a shed... That’s the beginning of a great story as would be expected from two talented writers. Not everything is black and white in this series as all the characters have flaws and redeeming qualities. Full of action and twists and turns that kept me guessing what was going to happen next and glued to it. I literally couldn’t put the books down!
Having recently finished the other vampire themed series by R. A. Steffan, Circle of Blood, I knew I was in for a ride. Fair warning though: this series is very, well, serialised. The first five books end in cliffhangers (although I'd personally put the end of Book 3 in the HFN category), something that tends to get many readers upset. Well, here's my unpopular opinion: there's nothing wrong with cliffhangers, especially when all the books of a series are already available. As far as I'm concerned, cliffhangers in this case only made me want to keep going. The world of The Last Vampire is quite nuanced: throughout the 6 books we are being taken on a rollercoaster ride that involves several trips around the human world, the Fae realm and even ****. We're also being taken on car chases, motorcycle chases, boat chases and several quite explicit battle sequences. Would I, personally, have preferred to spend more time in the two supernatural realms and less in James Bondesque chases across the globe? Potentially yes. But like I said, this is a rollercoaster ride; you need to hang tight and know you'll end up in a good place in the end. You gotta respect a writer who can do thriller/suspense/fight sequences in such a way WHILE ALSO writing the **** out of the many, delicious romance scenes that may be taking place between the same people but are definitely not repetitive at all. Chapeau. Now, for the characters. When I started reading Book 1, I had some misgivings about how fast Zorah, broke waitress with chronic illness and low self-esteem, falls for the "dark angel" Rans. But you know what? In the long term, it works just fine. The character of Zorah deals with real, human issues we don't quite see a lot in books like these, and in the end, all these issues contribute to who she's slowly becoming (no spoilers). And while Rans may originally be suffering from a case of "too perfect/too tortured" male protagonist, these two grow together quite nicely. I was afraid that reading 6 books in Zorah's first person POV would be a bit tiresome, but instead I found her refreshing. Especially when she got over herself a bit and became-hey, no spoilers.Plus: as per usual in R. A. Steffan's work, many of the supporting characters are equally if not more fascinating. I would pay good money for an M/M romance between a certain demon of the first order and his demon-bound human magician servant... Or an enemies-to-lovers story between a certain shibari artist and a stuck-up Fairy... Just saying.P.S. I finished this series too fast and now I can't wait to sink my teeth into Vampire Bound, that's taking place in the same world and features some of the characters we've already met.
That was a great series. I love stories with supernatural beings and this was full of them. I was a little disappointed with how the main characters wound up as well as the ending. Though it was still a relatively happy ending.
What so many use as TV time I use for reading. I've read a lot of books that did not use **** as a mainstay and they were quality reading. I'm sorry to say I didn't finish this series. I think there are other readers that wouldn't feel the story was bogged down by gratuitous ****, but I did. Believe it or not a sexual relationship can be conveyed without a total invasion of a character's private life. Yes, I realize it is just a story and who cares what is revealed, but I like to feel the story has more meaning and depth between characters with their private **** life as an embellishment to their relationship. Could I have found this an intriguing story? Yes, but did I? No.
I enjoyed this series very much. I listened to books 1-5 on audible I couldn’t afford book six but I had the whole series on Kindle unlimited so I read the last book. I love reading about vampires and other creatures. What a great story. I loved the characters that you have created. I reviewed the first five books on Amazon and now I reviewed the sixth book. You are a fantastic writer.
